The AUDA-NEPAD Leadership Dialogue was held in Johannesburg from June 19-21, 2019, bringing together senior government officials from 14 countries across the region, leaders from key industry associations, AUDA-NEPAD officials and development partners. The core problem addressed was that of youth unemployment and the objective of the Dialogue was to determine how TVET can contribute towards skill development and job opportunities for youth.

Informal apprenticeship refers to the system by which youth learners acquire the skills for a trade or craft in a micro- or small enterprise, learning and working side-by-side with an experienced craftsperson.This publication promotes a policy skill training approach to build on the strengths of informal apprenticeship systems and reap their potential.

​The Status of African Youth Report (SoAYR) provides an understanding of the current landscape of youth issues and what policies and programmes exist to address these issues among African Union (AU) Member States. It also examines the impact of interventions and aids in optimizing evidence-informed policy creation to strengthen the capacity of AU Member States to respond to youth development considerations and to produce stronger and more desirable results.

The GIZ Agri-Business Facility for Africa (ABF) has recently launched the Agribusiness e-Academy which offers self-paced learning opportunities in English and French. The courses foster skills training in agronomy, entrepreneurship, and economics instrumental for agribusiness practitioners, extension agents, teachers, and trainers.
