The future of work in Africa is brimming with potential. A skilled and mobile workforce can be a powerful engine for economic growth and development. To unlock this potential, the ILO and AUDA-NEPAD are co-hosting a free webinar on Skills Partnerships for Labour Migration in Africa on April 11th, 2024 at 12:00 PM EAT.

This timely webinar will delve into the concept of skills partnerships, exploring how they can address skill mismatches, promote fair and regular migration, and empower both migrants and destination countries.

These Rapid Assessment guidelines aim to inform timely and practical action within the constraints of public health and workplace OSH policies. The guidelines focus on three broad types of impact on the labour market, and hence on demand for skills and opportunities for workers, with implications for reskilling and upskilling needs. For each type of impact, there is an immediate component as short term responses to the pandemic affect economic activity.

This report contains the text of the proposed resolution and Conclusions submitted by the Standard-Setting Committee on Apprenticeships for adoption by the Conference.

The report of the Committee on its proceedings, as approved by the Officers of the Committee on behalf of the Committee, will be published on the Conference website in Record No. 5B after the closure of the session. Committee members will have the possibility to submit corrections to their own statements appearing in the report until 1 July 2022.
