Deploying Young Professionals to
Power Africa’s Skills Transformation

Energize Africa is a continental platform designed to harness the creativity and innovation of Africa’s youth and women to drive inclusive economic growth, placing young people at the centre of economic transformation and expanding opportunities through employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation. By mobilising technical and professional talent, Energize Africa strengthens institutions, stimulates private sector growth, and positions youth as active partners in building a prosperous and peaceful Africa.

Launched in 2022 by AUDA-NEPAD in partnership with Afreximbank at the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Objectives

Energize Africa aims to:

Mobilise Africa’s dynamic youth, particularly those with technical and professional skills, to drive Agenda 2063

Develop a pool of highly qualified young professionals committed to serving in public and private institutions

Deploy youth across AU institutions, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and national sectors with balanced geographical and gender representation;

Strengthen youth leadership in sustainable development and peace, in line with the African Youth Charter.
