- What is the ASPYEE Portal?
AUDA-NEPAD’s platform for Africa’s skills and employment ecosystem; hosting a Knowledge Centre, the Africa Critical Skills Bank (ACSB), Programmes, News & Events, and Connect & Collaborate.
- Who is it for?
Policymakers, TVET institutions, employers, researchers, youth networks, development partners, CSOs and RECs.
- Do I need an account?
Browsing is open. You may need an account to submit resources or access collaboration features.
- Which languages are supported?
English and French (with progressive expansion where content exists).
- Is the portal mobile-friendly?
Yes. It’s optimised for mobile and low-bandwidth use.

- What is the Knowledge Centre?
A curated library of Africa-focused resources on skills, TVET, entrepreneurship and employment.
- What can I find there?
Toolkits and guides, frameworks and standards, policy briefs, strategies, programme evaluations, case studies, datasets, curricula, training manuals, research reports, infographics, videos/webinars and more.
- How are resources indexed?
Each entry has: Resource Name, About blurb, Resource Type, Good Practice (Yes/No), Themes (up to 3), Target Groups (up to 3), Language, Country/Region, Year Published, Publisher.
- Why “Good Practice”?
It flags resources with strong tangible evidence of effectiveness, precise results or replicable models.
Navigation & “How-to” mini-guides
- How do I find exactly what I need?
Guide:
- Open Knowledge Centre.
- Use Search for keywords.
- Apply Filters (Theme, Resource Type, Year, Country/Region, Target Group, Language, Good Practice).
- Combine filters (e.g., Work-Based Learning + Toolkit/Guide + Employers/Private Sector).
- Sort by Newest, A–Z, or Relevance.
- Click the result to view details and download via the resource link.
- Open Knowledge Centre.
- How do I download multiple items?
Use filters to narrow down, then use the Export results (CSV/Excel) option if available; otherwise, download individually.
- Can I cite a resource?
Yes. Use the Publisher, Year, and Title shown on the resource page. Where available, a suggested citation is provided.
- How do I submit a resource?
Click Share a Resource, provide the link/file, fill in metadata, and submit. You’ll be notified after review.
- How do you handle duplicates or broken links?
Use Report an issue on the resource page. The team will fix or remove promptly.
- Why does Year filtering feel precise?
Resources are organised by year-based sheets to keep filters fast and accurate.
Quality & curation
- Who curates the library?
AUDA-NEPAD with expert reviewers. Good Practice items undergo an extra evidence check.
- Do you accept non-English resources?
Yes; French (and others where available). Use the Language filter.
- Are resources time-bound?
Calls/opportunities are archived after end dates. Most library items remain accessible with their original publication year.
The basics
- What is the Africa Critical Skills Bank (ACSB)?
A dashboard showing labour market demand and supply, by country, sector and occupation, with indicators like employment, wages, and shortage/surplus.
- What questions can ACSB answer?
Which occupations are in shortage, where wages are higher, which sectors are growing, and which skills are most in demand.
Data sources, freshness & caveats
- Where does ACSB data come from?
National labour force surveys, employer/sector studies, administrative records, expert consultation and published reports.
- How often is ACSB updated?
Periodically (e.g., annually or when new national data become available). Each country page shows the data year/version.
- Are there gaps or differences across countries?
Yes. Coverage and granularity vary. Notes on each page explain the method, limitations and last update.
- Can I request a correction?
Yes. Use the Report data issue on the dashboard or contact the team.
Projects & opportunities
- What Programmes are listed?
Continental/regional/national initiatives (e.g., Energize Africa Fellowship, ACQF, AOSDF, AI4D, SIFA, I-STEM, WorldSkills Africa).
- How do I explore a Programme?
Open its page for overview, objectives, resources, opportunities and contact details.
- How do I propose a Programme for listing?
Use Submit a Programme with a summary, links and contact person. The team will review.
Working Together
- What is Connect & Collaborate?
A space to engage with Strategic, Implementing, Knowledge and Community partners across Africa.
- How do I join as a partner?
Click Join as a Partner and complete the short form. You can indicate your partner type and areas of interest.
- What can I do there as an individual?
Join relevant networks/working groups, respond to calls, and share insights.
Staying Updated

Stories, updates, calls, workshops, webinars and event listings relevant to Africa’s skills ecosystem.
- Can I submit a news item or event?
Yes. Use Submit News/Event. Items are moderated before publishing.
