Knowledge management is key in ensuring that people share experiences and learn from each other. It is also a mechanism through which best practices are documented and shared for replication and or sustenance. With technological advancement in the information and communication sector the ever-dynamical labour markets, tools and opportunities for learning and experience sharing is improving. Covid 19 has fast tracked the development and utilization of online knowledge management systems.

In response, the ILO has partnered with GIZ and AUDA-NEPAD to establish knowledge-sharing portal on Skills and Labour Migration within the ASPYEE platform (https://aspyee.org). The Skills and Labour Migration portal is accessible directly through this link (https://aspyee.org/focus-area/skills-labour-migration). The portal’s vision is to serve as clearing house for skills dimensions of labour migration in African continent with links beyond the continent so that constituents, partners, and stakeholders have access to information, tools, and good practices from which they can learn and share.

Objectives of the webinar

The ILO, in collaboration with GIZ and AUDA-NEPAD, is organizing a special webinar to:

  • Share overview of domestic work skills development programmes - opportunities and challenges.
  • Learn from emerging good practice(s) from the region and beyond on domestic work training.
  • Provide opportunity for exchange and reflections from stakeholders as part of the webinar and launch of community of practice.
  • Introduce the portal of skills dimensions of labour migration of the ASPYEE Platform.
