TVET Survey

The African Union Commission (AUC) and AUDA-NEPAD have initiated a review of the Continental Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Strategy for Youth Employment and Action Plans. This strategic reassessment is supported by the Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) Program.

Africa’s demographic dividend, characterised by a large youth population, presents both opportunities and challenges. While this young workforce has the potential to drive unprecedented economic growth, the current limitations in access to quality TVET programs pose significant barriers to realising this potential.

The review process aims to address these challenges by:

  1. Updating the Continental TVET Strategy to align with recent trends and emerging thematic areas.
  2. Developing technical solutions and tools to assist Member States in domesticating and implementing the strategy effectively.

As part of this comprehensive approach, five Member States will be selected to pilot the updated TVET Strategy, providing valuable insights for broader implementation across the continent. Recognizing the importance of diverse perspectives in shaping effective policies, the African Union has called for input from TVET stakeholders across Africa.

TVET professionals, policymakers, educators, and students are encouraged to participate in this important initiative by completing a survey. To access the survey, interested parties can scan the provided QR code or visit: https://shorturl.at/m6yCy

The outcomes of this review are expected to have far-reaching implications for skills development across the continent, potentially transforming educational paradigms and creating new pathways for youth employment and entrepreneurship.

Insights and recommendations from stakeholders across Africa will play a crucial role in formulating a robust, relevant, and effective Continental TVET Strategy.

By fostering collaboration between policymakers, educators, industry leaders and learners, we can contribute towards a TVET system that not only meets the current needs of its youth but also anticipates and prepares for the challenges of tomorrow’s job market.
