Webinar Objectives:
- Raise Awareness of Strategies for Inclusive TVET: Learn from successful examples in South Africa and innovative strategies from the Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) and analyse existing policies and explore future directions to enhance vocational education and training in Africa.
- Highlight Trends in the Future of Work and the Role of TVET: Discuss the evolving landscape of work and how TVET can develop responsive strategies through updated curricula, effective recruitment and selection of learners, and strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.
Keynote Speakers:
- Jahni de Villiers, Director, LabourAmplified and member of the National Skills Authority (NSA) will speak to approaches in South Africa, unpacking the work being done within the public and private sector to address the need for inclusion and how the TVET sector is responding to the needs of the South African labour market
- Cheryl James, Senior Technical Advisor, Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA), will speak to the continental approach that SIFA is taking to strengthen TVET practices through an Africa lens, using international good practice, developmental approaches and innovative strategies to ensure context driven policy making.
